Cairo Children Experience Compassionate Care at Brooke Hospital for Animals

Eighteen children and two teachers from the Masr Bokra for Development Organization (MBD) visited the Brooke Hospital for Animals in Cairo on Monday, December 16, 2024. The visit aimed to demonstrate the value of the Brooke curriculum and assess its influence on the children's attitudes toward animals. Dr. Mohab, the veterinarian in charge, guided the children on a tour of the hospital, where they observed inpatient cases and learned about the care provided to working animals. The children also participated in a hands-on farrier workshop, gaining practical insight into the farrier's role in equine health. The day concluded with recreational activities and games. The visit successfully fostered compassion and empathy for animals among the children, deepening their understanding of veterinary care and animal welfare. This educational experience is part of Brooke's ongoing commitment to cultivating a future generation of responsible and caring animal lovers.
