BHA Egypt aims to improve equine welfare by increasing owners' knowledge and encouraging better animal care practices. This involves identifying and training Community Influencers, e.g., Rural Guides, literacy teachers, Masr Bokra teachers, and animal welfare committee groups to raise awareness and promote positive behavior among owners and users.

The field team supports this by educating both owners and community influencers, ensuring key welfare messages are understood, shared, and applied at the community level, ultimately reducing preventable animal suffering and improving working conditions for equines.

This is achieved through educational sessions organized by Brooke teams before, during, and after vet services, best animal owner competitions, and school children visits. In addition to the home visits by rural guides, literacy classes are conducted by literacy teachers.
