Prof. Dr. Nashed Helmy a pioneer of veterinary medicine in Egypt (1909-1991), played a crucial role alongside Mrs. Brook in selecting the hospital's current location. His compassion for animals was evident throughout his career, and he made history as the first Egyptian veterinarian to volunteer with the Brooke Hospital for Animals -Egypt. In recognition of his significant contributions to the field, Cairo University awarded him a pioneer certificate in 1983. This honor acknowledged his extensive work in publishing scientific veterinary research and the achievement of three doctoral degrees—two from institutions in Holland and one from Cairo.
