Dr. Murad Ragheb (1912 - 1990), the first General Manager of the Brooke Hospital for Animals - Egypt, Dr. Murad Ragheb came to work in the hospital in 1938 and stayed until he died in 1990, “a linchpin of the hospital's survival and success”. Dr. Murad Ragheb served as the first General Manager of the Brooke Hospital for Animals in Egypt, a position he held from 1945 until 1986. His tenure was marked by significant contributions to the welfare of working animals in Egypt. Under his leadership, the hospital expanded its services, including the establishment of Egypt's first mobile veterinary clinic in 1982. In recognition of his exceptional efforts, Dr. Ragheb was awarded an Honorary Medal by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in 1986. This accolade highlighted his dedication to improving the lives of working equines in Egypt.
