Chief Executive Officer
Abeer Mohamed Shennawy has been serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Brooke Hospital for Animals Egypt since February 2019. A graduate of Cairo University’s Faculty of Commerce (1989), she brings over 30 years of leadership experience across local and international organizations, including Arthur Andersen, USAID, UNICEF, the Egyptian-Swiss Development Fund, and the Aga Khan Foundation. Abeer has advised UN representatives and donor agencies on strategic matters and worked closely with senior government officials. Her expertise spans strategic planning, program monitoring, fundraising, institutional development, financial and grants management, and organizational capacity building. Driven by a deep belief in compassion and justice, Abeer is dedicated to advancing Brooke Egypt’s mission of improving the welfare of working animals and supporting the communities that depend on them. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, painting, opera, travel, and time in nature.
